Mr. Goodbar's Story
Duane Williams, affectionately called Mr. Goodbar is an African American man arguably known most during his youthful years performing as a male exotic dancer and Venice Beach body builder in Southern California. While he retired the stage, SAG-AFTRA, LA fast club scene, and basketball in Santa Monica for golf after suffering two medical emergencies requiring quick thinking & CPR by his beloved friend and life-saver Matt Wolf. The remarkable incident, which curiously repeated itself in a Deja vu-like sequence, attracted local news coverage and can be viewed in the documentary section of Monica Guillemin’s YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/MapXAV0fI7U?si=9R5BkGTEzBAoi6CH. Duane can still be found enjoying the dance floor with close friends—though not for hire, nor in a spotlight but most definitely practically any day on the greens golfing. Once Duane started playing golf, Mr. Reginald Satterfield—Monica’s dad, shared stories about his father Jesse Satterfield. Mr. Satterfield encouraged Duane and Monica’s family investigate published articles of Jesse Satterfield and thus Duane’s Tee Time Tales was created in Mr. Jesse Satterfield’s honor.
